
ITP Aero Joins GTF MRO Network
ITP Aero has made no secret of its plans to grow in the commercial aftermarket space and took a big step forward with its strategy at Paris where it was confirmed as part of Pratt & Whitney’s Geared Turbofan (GTF) aftermarket network. The Bilbao-headquartered company announced it will start servicing Pratt & Whitney-manufactured PW1500G engines for Airbus A220-family aircraft and the PW1900G for Embraer E-Jets E2-family aircraft with MRO services and test capability from its shop in Madrid from early 2027. ITP will undertake full overhauls on the engines as well as back shop repairs on the engine’s components and plans to use existing capacity as well as building a designated shop for the GTF. The company plans to focus on heavier workscopes to start with to better understand the engine. By 2033, it will ramp up output by 120+ engines.

Cebu Pacific Commits To Pratt MRO For GTF Fleet
Cebu Pacific agreed terms with Pratt & Whitney for the OEM to provide aftermarket coverage for its future fleet of PW1000 GTF engines powering its Airbus A320neo-family aircraft. The agreement runs for 12 years, and the U.S. engine OEM said it will align Cebu Pacific’s maintenance costs to the utilization of its engines. Under the terms of the contract, Pratt’s MRO network will oversee maintenance for the large engine order the Philippines-based LCC placed for GTF engines in 2024. The airline will gain access to technical expertise, fleet data and business intelligence, which Pratt said will help it gain more transparency and predictability in maintenance planning. Included in the maintenance coverage is a large-scale order for more GTF engines. Last year at the Farnborough Air Show, the carrier announced commitments for Pratt & Whitney engines for up to 152 A321neo variants. At the time, it signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus to order 102 aircraft with purchase rights for an additional 50 more.

Wizz Air Signs Engine Support Contract As Part Of Large GTF Order
Another major GTF announcement is Hungarian LCC Wizz Air selecting the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G GTF engine to power its 177 firm order for Airbus A321neo aircraft. The announcement at Paris brings brings the airline's order total to 453 aircraft powered by GTF engines. As part of the deal, Pratt & Whitney will provide Wizz Air with engine maintenance through a long-term EngineWise aftermarket services agreement.

AFI KLM E&M, AerCap Enter Leap Engine Leasing JV
Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) announced at Paris Air Show 2025 that it had commenced negotiations with leasing company AerCap to form an engine leasing joint venture aimed at supporting customers in its Premier MRO network. Long-term, the companies plan to jointly own and manage a fleet of CFM International Leap-1As and -1Bs, which power Airbus A320neo-family and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, respectively, to supply spare assets to customers while their other engines undergo shop visits within AFI KLM E&M’s MRO network. AFI KLM E&M was one of the five founding members of the Premier MRO network, set up by CFM International last year.

AFI KLM E&M Inducts First Rolls-Royce Trent XWB Engine
Following on from its announced Trent XWB spare engine joint venture, AFI KLM E&M also confirmed that it had inducted its first Airbus A350 powerplant at its shop at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The MRO inducted the Trent XWB-84 variant in the French capital this week, two years after announcing its plans to support the engine type at Paris Air Show 2023. Rolls-Royce had previously outlined plans to ramp up its aftermarket network capacity and capability by 2030.

Rolls Advances Trent XWB Program With Riyadh Air Orders, Maintenance MOU
Among the prominent aircraft orders at the Paris Air Show 2025 is Saudi Arabian carrier Riyadh Air placing an order for 25 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. In addition, the startup airline, due to commence operating in late 2025, signed a memorandum of understanding for 50 Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines to power the aircraft. Both parties have also signed a TotalCare aftermarket support agreement to cover the health and maintenance of the engines.

Texel Air To Expand MRO Hangars At Bahrain Airport
Middle Eastern cargo airline Texel Air signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand its MRO facilities at its Bahrain home base. The carrier announced the signing of the MOU at the Paris Air Show and it plans to add capacity at Bahrain International Airport through the development of a new 75,000-ft.2 Code C (narrowbody) aircraft hangar, designed to accommodate up to three narrowbody aircraft including the Boeing 737, which Texel Air operates. The configuration can also house multiple ultra-long-range business jets. The company will also add 108,000 ft.2 of apron, maneuvering and taxiway area to provide more parking and maintenance services tailored to customers in private and corporate aviation.

Gulf Air entered into a long-term services agreement with CFM International for the support of its Leap-1A engines powering its fleet of Airbus A320neo-family aircraft. The renewed agreement covers 29 A320neo aircraft powered by the Leap and includes the purchase of additional spare engines. Gulf Air is modernizing its fleet and under the new terms, will receive full MRO services as well as access to spare parts, ensuring continued operational reliability and efficiency across its narrowbody fleet.

EPCOR Renews 777 APU Ties With Kuwait Airways
Amsterdam-based EPCOR renewed its agreement with Kuwait Airways for auxiliary power unit (APU) support on its Boeing 777 aircraft fleet. The AFI KLM E&M APU and pneumatic component repair specialist will continue to cover GTCP331-500 APUs for a period of three years. Currently, five APUs from Kuwait Airways are undergoing maintenance at EPCOR's recently expanded facility located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands. An increased number of units are expected to enter the shop over the duration of the agreement.

Safran Landing Gears, Revima Renew Landing Gear Support Agreement
