European startup Hypersonica has leveraged the first flight test of its hypersonic missile demonstrator to secure €100 million ($112 million) in financing it plans to parlay into accelerated testing.

The Series B funding round will also support expanding industrial operations, the company said in a Nov. 2 statement.

Hypersonica in February emerged from stealth, revealing a hypersonic missile test of its HS-1.

"Series B marks our transition from demonstration to delivery,” CEO Philipp Kerth and Chief Technology Officer Marc Ewenz said jointly in the statement.

The funding round was co-led by Lightspeed and General Catalyst.

The company has said it plans to have an operational deep strike system customer-ready in 2029.
