SINGAPORE—Chinese business aviation startup Beijing Airlink Aircraft (Bairac) has unveiled two hybrid-powered business jet concepts as the company secures its first round of investment.

Established in March 2026, Bairac displayed the Belyn 100HF and Belyn 100HP concepts at the Nanchang Aviation Industry Expo that kicked off on Oct. 31.

The Belyn 100HF uses a parallel-hybrid propulsion system, combining a conventional combustion engine with an electric motor that can drive the aircraft independently or simultaneously.

Technical specifications circulating online indicate that the aircraft measures 16.7 m (54.8 ft.) long, with a wingspan of 15.8 m. With a maximum takeoff weight of 8,000 kg (17,637 lb.), it can carry 12 passengers and reach a maximum speed of Mach 0.8, and it has a stated range of 3,500 km (1,890 nm).

The Belyn 100HP, meanwhile, uses a series-hybrid configuration in which electric motors drive the propellers. Images of the model show two open-rotor propulsion units mounted on the rear fuselage.

The 100HP shares the 100HF variant's dimensions and maximum takeoff weight but has a shorter stated range of 1,200 km and a lower maximum speed of Mach 0.5. Its maximum operating altitude is also lower, at 8,000 m, compared with 13,000 m for the 100HF.

The South China Morning Post reported that most of Bairac's founders graduated from Tsinghua University's School of Aerospace Engineering and have backgrounds in China's domestic aviation industry. The company aims to complete market validation of the aircraft within three years.

Hope it has tall landing gear to prevent a ground prop strike. That would be a costly mess!
