The Asia-Pacific region is poised for growth in air travel, and Singapore Changi Airport stands ready to partner with airlines to capitalize on this growing demand. Changi Airport’s connectivity, world-class passenger experiences and facilities, coupled with Singapore's appeal as a tourist destination, make it the ideal choice for airlines seeking to expand their presence in the region and beyond.
A Hub Positioned for Growth
With the International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecasting that the Asia-Pacific region will be one of the fastest growing regions in terms of passenger traffic over the next two decades, industry analyses consistently point to the region's pivotal role in the future of aviation.
As one of Asia’s most connected international aviation hubs, Changi Airport links Singapore to some 170 cities globally through a network of 100 airlines. In 2024, 13 of Changi Airport’s top 15 routes connect to destinations within the Asia-Pacific region, underscoring our commitment to serving the needs of this fast-growing market. We are witnessing strong year-on-year passenger growth from China and India, demonstrating the increasing demand for travel to and from these key markets.
Investing in the Future: Expanding Capacity and Enhancing Operations
With the groundbreaking of Terminal 5 in May 2025, Changi Airport is preparing for future growth. The terminal, set to open in the mid-2030s, will increase the airport’s capacity by an additional 50 million passengers annually. It will be seamlessly connected to Changi Airport’s existing terminals, enabling the airport to function as a single, integrated air hub.
Terminal 5 also represents Changi’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. It will feature cutting-edge technologies like automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence to streamline operations while adopting sustainable practices such as clean energy systems and smart building management. Notably, it will house one of Singapore’s largest rooftop solar panel installations, showcasing its commitment to environmentally responsible development.

In the last few years, Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 has also been revamped to elevate passengers’ experience in Changi’s current terminals. Expansions to travel facilities, including departure, immigration, and baggage claim, are seamlessly integrated with innovative new attractions. The Wonderfall, a mesmerizing digital waterfall, and Dreamscape, an immersive indoor garden with a real-time digital sky, offer unique and memorable experiences.
Singapore: A Vibrant Destination
Changi Airport is the world’s key gateway to Singapore, a vibrant metropolis and cultural melting pot, offering dynamic experiences for every traveler. The island state’s appeal as a tourist destination plays a crucial role in driving passenger demand.

Iconic attractions like Jewel Changi Airport has transformed the airport experience, making Changi Airport a destination in itself. The stunning Jewel Rain Vortex, the world's tallest indoor waterfall cascading through a lush, multi-level indoor garden, has captivated millions of travelers. Beyond its visual appeal, Jewel boasts a diverse range of offerings from aviation facilities, play attractions, as well as retail and dining options, further enhancing its draw.
Outside of Changi, Singapore continues to introduce new and exciting attractions, further boosting its appeal to travelers. Recently opened, the Rainforest Wild Asia further showcases the rich biodiversity of Southeast Asian rainforests, featuring a variety of animals in naturalistic habitats.
