Condor plans to expand its winter 2025-26 schedule with the addition of new routes and increased frequencies. The German leisure carrier will launch a new daily service between Stuttgart and Dubai and add a second daily flight between Berlin and Dubai. The airline will also offer daily flights from Frankfurt to Bangkok, Phuket and Cape Town throughout the winter season, while Johannesburg will see three flights per week. Panama City, a new route for this summer, will also be extended into the winter schedule with two weekly flights. Additionally, Condor plans to boost feeder traffic to support long-haul routes from Frankfurt. Flights from Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna and Zurich will increase from two to three daily frequencies.


Jet2.com has placed its winter 2026-27 schedule on sale, including two new routes and expanded services to destinations such as Morocco, Malta and Madeira. The leisure airline has put 4.4 million seats on sale across 14 winter sun destinations, representing a 4% increase in capacity compared to winter 2025-26. The program will operate from all 13 of the group’s UK airport bases. The two new routes are Bournemouth to Malaga and London Luton to Palma de Mallorca.


Hungarian ULCC Wizz Air has announced the launch of a new 2X-weekly route between Birmingham, England, and Sibiu, Romania, with flights set to commence on Oct. 28. The service will operate on Tuesdays and Saturday.


Air Canada has inaugurated a new nonstop service between Montreal and Porto, marking the airline’s second destination in Portugal. The airline currently serves Lisbon from both Montreal and Toronto. Flights to Porto will operate three times per week through Aug. 28 using Airbus A330-300 equipment.


Indonesia’s TransNusa Airlines will double its service between Perth and Bali from July 18, expanding from one to two daily flights just months after launching the route. The airline, which began operating daily flights between Perth Airport and Denpasar in March, will use Airbus A320 aircraft for the increased schedule. The new frequencies are expected to provide more than 250,000 seats annually on the leisure route.


JetBlue has launched summer-seasonal service between Boston Logan International Airport and Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan. The new route operates Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 25.


Air India has announced an increase in service to three regional markets, adding more flights to Bangkok, Colombo and Kathmandu starting July 7. The expansion will see a sixth daily flight introduced between New Delhi and Kathmandu, raising the total frequency on the route from 35 to 42 flights per week. On the New Delhi-Colombo route, Air India will double its current schedule with the addition of a second daily flight, increasing the frequency from seven to 14 weekly services. Meanwhile, the Mumbai-Bangkok sector will see the launch of a third daily flight, taking the weekly number of frequencies from 13 to 18.

Jazeera Airways has confirmed it will resume direct flights between Kuwait and Damascus starting June 19, marking the first commercial service between the two cities in over 12 years. The daily service restores a link for the more than 200,000 Syrians residing in Kuwait, with the airline planning to increase frequencies to 2X-daily later this summer. Jazeera previously served Damascus, Aleppo and Deir Ez Zoor before suspending operations in Syria. “By reinstating this vital service, we are not only supporting the strong and vibrant Syrian community in Kuwait but also reinforcing the deep historical, cultural and economic bonds between our two nations,” Jazeera CEO Barathan Pasupathi says.


Air India will launch nonstop service between New Delhi and Manila on Oct. 1, becoming the only carrier to offer direct flights between India and the Philippines. The new route will operate five times per week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays—using Airbus A321neo aircraft. The move comes after the Philippines recently introduced visa-free entry for Indian tourists for up to 14 days. “As outbound travel from India grows at an unprecedented pace, with Indian tourists ranking among the highest spenders globally, the new entry rules for Indian tourists are a shot in the arm to boost tourism to the Philippines,” Air India CEO Campbell Wilson says.


Ryanair will base a fourth aircraft at Shannon Airport for the winter 2025-26 season, announcing three new routes to Rovaniemi, Madeira and Madrid. The expansion will support a 20% increase in traffic, bringing total annual passenger volume at Shannon to over 1.6 million. Ryanair will also add extra flights on six other routes to Alicante, Edinburgh, Kraków, Lanzarote, Manchester and Wrocław. “Ryanair's investment is a powerful endorsement of the potential of Shannon, a vote of confidence in the market here, and a testament to the progress we've made growing passenger numbers,” Shannon Airport Group CEO Mary Considine says.


Volotea has announced a new nonstop route between Genoa and Madrid, launching on Dec. 5. The LCC will operate the service twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. With the addition of the Spanish capital, Volotea will offer four routes from Genoa in 2025: two domestic (Naples and Olbia), one to France (Paris Orly) and the new Madrid service.


Emirates has expanded its East Asia network to 23 destinations with the launch of new routes to Da Nang and Siem Reap via Bangkok. Both services are operated using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Da Nang becomes Emirates’ third gateway in Vietnam, joining Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, while Siem Reap is the airline’s second destination in Cambodia alongside Phnom Penh.


Scoot, the LCC arm of Singapore Airlines, has launched a new nonstop service connecting Singapore Changi Airport and Vienna Airport. The new route will operate year-round, three times per week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays—using Boeing 787-8 equipment. Julian Jäger, member of the board of Vienna Airport, says the new service strengthens Vienna’s role as a Europe-Asia hub and opens opportunities for tourism, business and international partnerships.

Emirates and Air China have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand their longstanding interline partnership. The agreement, signed during the IATA AGM in New Delhi, outlines plans to explore a reciprocal codeshare on select routes, including China-UAE services and beyond Beijing and Dubai. The two carriers also aim to cooperate on cargo operations and frequent flyer programs.


Latvia’s airBaltic is set to expand its winter 2025-26 schedule with three new seasonal routes: Riga–Faro from Sept. 6; Gran Canaria–Ljubljana from Oct. 25; and Tallinn–Madeira from Oct. 26. All three will be served once a week. Alongside the new routes, the Latvian airline will boost frequencies to popular destinations, including daily Riga–Dubai service and increased flights from the Baltics to Amsterdam. Seasonal services to Catania will launch earlier in March 2026, while flights to Pisa and Porto will extend through November. AirBaltic also plans to resume its Riga–Dublin route and increase Egypt services.


Austrian Airlines has started new summer flights between Vienna and Edinburgh, marking the carrier’s first-ever service to Scotland’s capital. Operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using Airbus A320 aircraft, the seasonal route runs through Sept. 27.


Canada’s Porter Airlines has launched new daily nonstop flights from Hamilton to Halifax and Vancouver, expanding its coast-to-coast network. The routes are operated with 132-seat Embraer 195-E2 aircraft and mark the carrier’s first scheduled service from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. The new flights coincide with terminal upgrades at the airport, including refreshed interiors and updated signage. Additional routes to Calgary and Edmonton are set to begin on June 11.


Turkish Airlines subsidiary AJet has commenced a new daily nonstop service between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Stockholm Arlanda Airport, expanding connectivity between Turkey and Sweden. The flights depart Istanbul at 10:00 a.m. and return from Stockholm at 1:40 p.m. local time.


Scottish regional airline Loganair has opened a seasonal route connecting Glasgow and Newquay, England. The service will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. “We have been pleasantly surprised by the strength of demand on this route, which bodes well for the future development of it, and we look forward to working closely with both Glasgow and Newquay airports to unlock its potential,” Loganair CCO Luke Lovegrove says.


Germany’s Discover Airlines has launched a new route between Munich and Bodø, Norway. Flying twice-weekly on Mondays and Thursdays through October, the seasonal service is operated by Airbus A320 aircraft. The route is part of Discover Airlines’ expanding Nordics program, which includes existing services to Kittilä, Evenes and Reykjavik, with Oulu and Alta to join the network in 2025.

Australian LCC Jetstar is set to launch direct flights between Newcastle and Bali starting Oct. 21, marking Newcastle’s first regular scheduled international route since 2020. The new service will operate three times per week using Airbus A321LR aircraft, providing more than 70,000 seats annually. The route follows Jetstar’s recent announcement of Gold Coast–Bali flights, which will begin in August. Bali remains Jetstar’s most popular international destination, with approximately 100 weekly flights.


Air New Zealand will launch a new 2X-weekly route between Christchurch and Adelaide this summer, marking the first-ever direct commercial air link between the two cities. Flights will operate on Fridays and Mondays from Oct. 27 through March 28, 2026, adding more than 15,000 seats over the season. The new service supports long-weekend travel and business connections, with evening departures from Christchurch and morning returns from Adelaide. “Our data shows that close to 50,000 passengers are traveling indirectly between Adelaide and the South Island each year, with a relatively even split of inbound and outbound travel, so we're confident that there will be significant interest in this new service,” Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox says.


Volotea has expanded operations from its Bordeaux base with the launch of four new routes and the addition of a third Airbus A320. The new aircraft arrival supports a 35% increase in capacity year-over-year, bringing total seats offered in 2025 to 1.2 million across 38 destinations.


Turkish Airlines and Thai Airways have signed a joint business agreement during the IATA AGM in New Delhi, aiming to deepen strategic cooperation between the two Star Alliance carriers. The deal builds on Thai daily Bangkok–Istanbul service launched in December 2023. Subject to regulatory approval, the joint operation is expected to begin in the winter 2025–26 season. Both airlines said the agreement will improve connectivity between Thailand and Turkey, expand route networks and support tourism and transit traffic.


Edelweiss has commenced two new routes from Zurich, expanding its international network with flights to Seattle and Bristol. The seasonal Seattle route will operate 2X-weekly on Mondays and Saturdays until Sept. 15, using a 314-seat Airbus A340. Seattle becomes Edelweiss’ fourth U.S. destination alongside Tampa Bay, Las Vegas and Denver. Edelweiss has also commenced service to Bristol Airport. The new route to southwest England will run 2X-weekly on Mondays and Fridays.


KM Malta Airlines has opened a new route connecting Malta and Istanbul Airport, with inaugural flights taking off on June 2. The service operates three times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. KM Malta says the new route strengthens connectivity for both business and leisure travelers and is supported by a strategic partnership with Turkish Airlines to facilitate onward travel.


Frontier Airlines has launched operations at Seattle Paine Field International Airport, introducing nonstop service to Denver, Las Vegas and Phoenix. Each route will operate twice a week, and the operations complement the carrier’s existing service to seven destinations from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.


Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has started service to Yerevan, Armenia. The new route from Abu Dhabi operates daily except Tuesdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft.


Qantas and regional carrier FlyPelican have launched a new one-way interline agreement, aimed at boosting travel connectivity across New South Wales. The partnership enables customers booking with Qantas to connect onto FlyPelican-operated regional flights.

Emirates will restart flights to Damascus on July 16, marking its return to the Syrian capital after suspending operations in 2012. The initial service will operate three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays—using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. The frequency will increase to four weekly flights from Aug. 2, with daily service scheduled to begin Oct. 26. The airline’s decision follows a comprehensive review conducted with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority. It is estimated that there are about 350,000 Syrian nationals living in the UAE. Meanwhile, Jazeera Airways also plans to resume flights between Kuwait and Damascus, pending regulatory approval, marking its return to Syria after a 12-year suspension.


Porter Airlines is expanding its U.S. network with the launch of nonstop service between Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), beginning June 25. The new route will operate up to 2X-daily using the airline’s 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft. The YUL service becomes the third nonstop route to EWR offered by the airline, in addition to flights from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Ottawa.


Vietjet has launched a new international route connecting Phu Quoc and Singapore. The service operates four times per week. With the new addition, the LCC now runs 78 weekly flights between Vietnam and Singapore across four routes linking Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang. Domestically, Vietjet also resumed two routes on June 1: Da Nang–Nha Trang and Hanoi–Tuy Hoa.


Japan Airlines (JAL) has commenced daily nonstop service between Tokyo Narita International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The new route complements JAL’s existing daily flights to Tokyo Haneda. The new Narita service is operated with a Boeing 777-300ER and adds 244 daily seats to the Chicago–Tokyo market.


Thai AirAsia has inaugurated a new fifth-freedom route connecting Bangkok Don Mueang, Hong Kong and Okinawa, marking its first Japan-bound service via Hong Kong. Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, says the route represent a strategic opportunity to expand its customer base by tapping into new, high-potential markets. “Hong Kong is a key hub with great potential for connecting passengers to places like Okinawa,” he adds.


Vietnam Airlines has launched two new international routes as part of its 2025 expansion strategy. On June 1, the carrier inaugurated a daily direct service between Nha Trang and Busan, South Korea, using Airbus A321 aircraft. Vietnam Airlines now operates 16 daily flights linking Vietnamese cities with Seoul and Busan. On June 2, the airline began a 4X-weekly service between Ho Chi Minh City and Bali, which will increase to daily flights in July. The new route enhances regional connectivity and supports diplomatic and economic ties between Vietnam and Indonesia, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of bilateral relations.


Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new route to Sharjah, UAE. Flights from Addis Ababa will operate four times per week. "The new service will help boost investment, tourism, diplomatic and socioeconomic bonds between the two regions," Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew says.
