Oman Air Spending $90 Million on ATR-42 Regional Craft

Oman Air has concluded a contract with ATR for two firm and four optioned ATR 42-500 regional airliners, the first to be delivered to the Gulf sheikdom in three months' time. Valued at $90 million, the contract follows an extensive evaluation in which the ATR 42's hot-and-high performance commended it to the mountainous sheikdom. Oman Air's current fleet is three Airbus A320s and four Fokker F27s, with an Airbus A310 to be acquired early next year.
