Enstrom Helicopter has delivered two Enstrom 480 turbine helicopters to Wuhan Helicopter General Aviation Corp. in Wuhan, in the People's Republic of China. WHGAC is beginning commercial operations in Wuhan.

The helicopters were completed in June 1998 and shipped for re-assembly in Wuhan. One of the two was immediately pressed into service to aid in flood control along the Yangtze River.

Liu Bichao, chairman and president of WHGAC, expects to add two more Enstrom 480s to the fleet after initial operations are proven. Commercial operations in mainland China have centered on offshore applications and utilization in coastal cities and in Beijing.
