450 New Hamilton Standard FADECs for F101 Engines

Hamilton Standard is to develop and supply GE with an upgraded FADEC (full authority digital engine control) system for the F101 engines on the USAF's B-1B, and F118 engines on the B-2 Stealth bombers of Strategic Air Command. The contract calls for 450 units for the B-1Bs and 120 for the B-2s, with production deliveries beginning in the third quarter of 2002. Joe Triompo, VP of Hamilton Standard's engine control and accessories division, said it was the first FADEC contract they had received from GE at Evendale.
