King Aerospace Expands Service Areas

King Aerospace Commercial, the Addison, TX-based refurbishment outfit, is expanding into transport aircraft. The five-year-old firm has concentrated on large corporate aircraft in the past, but is adding custom interior modifications to "head-of-state" and VIP/corporate transport-type aircraft to its repertoire.

"As an integral element of our five-year strategic plan, my long-term vision included servicing transport-type aircraft," said president Jerry King. "We will continue to focus primarily on corporate aircraft, but add transport because of our transport aircraft experience. I believe this is a good opportunity for customers who are considering their options, as well as potential employees who desire to work in a dynamic business environment. This is an exciting time for King Aerospace and a pivotal turning point for the growth of our company," he said.

King Aerospace has recorded a 40% increase in business volume this year and is projecting two refurbishments on transport aircraft and eight on large corporate aircraft within the next six months, King said. The company's 120,000-square-foot service center at Ardmore, OK, can accommodate widebody aircraft, although King will continue to focus on corporate machines. King recently refurbished two Gulfstreams, one Challenger and one BAC 1-11.

The firm is expanding its employee base and recently hired several new interior and exterior reburbishment technicians as well as a production coordinator to manage delivery turntime.
