GE Go-Team Incorporates Garrett Products, and Vice Versa

GE is leveraging its acquisition of Garrett Aviation Services by adding TFE731 engine and, ultimately, Falcon airframe and related Garrett capabilities, to its GE Engine go-teams. Garrett, in turn, is spooling up at its six locations nationwide to offer CFM-56 support for the GE/Snecma engines that power the Boeing Business Jet. The GE field service function, called On Wing Support, provides mobile engine services at aircraft-on-ground locations worldwide as well as scheduled and unscheduled repairs at an operator's location. The added capabilities also will help expand Garrett Aviation support into Europe. Garrett training of On Wing Support personnel on the TFE731 is scheduled to be completed by March 1999.
