Safe Flight N1 Computers Installed on Beech and Cessna Jets

Safe Flight Instrument N1 computers have been installed on a Beechjet 400A, a Cessna CitationJet and a Cessna Citation V. Installation on the Beechjet was performed by Piedmont Hawthorne's Roanoke, VA-based facility, and the two Cessna installations were by Orlando Citation Service Center and Wichita Citation Service Center, respectively. The N1 computer continually displays real-time target N1 thrust settings for takeoff, climb, cruise and go-around, each based on the aircraft's flight manual performance charts. The system constantly monitors ram air temperature and pressure altitude from the aircraft's air-data bus, along with environmental control system configuration and anti-ice logic from the applicable aircraft systems to continually compute the appropriate target N1. It is said to result in maximum engine/aircraft performance, reduced cockpit workload and reduced operating costs, and to virtually eliminate the potential for overtemp and overspeed situations. Suggested list price for the system is $9,650.
