Lucas Gets Second Contract as Supplier to the Bell 609 Civil Tiltrotor Project

Lucas Aerospace of Vienna, VA, Booth 8337, has received its second subcontract on the Bell Helicopter Textron 609 civil tiltrotor program. The latest assignment is to design and manufacture DC electric power systems for the six- to nine-place tiltrotor. Lucas was selected earlier to provide flexible drive couplings in addition to its work as a major supplier to the Bell/Boeing V-22 military tilt-rotor. "With our experience in tiltrotor technology, we are both keen and prepared for this program to do well," said Andy Barton, Lucas Aerospace program general manager for business and commuter aircraft.
