Jet Aviation to Outfit Two A319CJs

Jet Aviation's Basel completion center will receive two Airbus A319CJ Corporate Jetliners within the next nine months, following its selection earlier this year as an approved outfitting center for the big new corporate transport.

One of the A319CJs will receive a complete, 25-passenger, custom VIP interior. The other will arrive with galleys and a first-class compartment already installed. Jet Aviation will add a VIP lounge, a private office, and a lavatory with shower. Jet Aviation also will install an in-seat entertainment system in the first-class zone.

Jet Aviation and Airbus have specified six standard cabin layouts for the A319CJ, with room for 10 to 39 passengers and installed weights ranging from 8,500 to 10,700 pounds. The simplest layouts start at $4 million and take four to six months to install. Additionally, Jet Aviation has created 17 standard modules from which the customer and supplier can create a specially tailored interior.

At its headquarters base in West Palm Beach, Jet Aviation is expanding and modernizing its facilities. Hangar space will be more than doubled with the addition of three 27,000-square-foot hangars, large enough to accommodate aircraft such as the Global Express and Gulfstream V. Other shops are being modernized, with better facilities for customers. A new administration building is being built.

Jet Aviation also has doubled its hangar capacity at Bedford, MA, by acquiring a second hangar. The Bedford facility is ideally placed to serve the eastern Massachusetts technology belt, according to the company.
