Chrysler Pentastar Aviation Nears ISO 9002 Nod

Chrysler Pentastar Aviation (Booth 6234) has successfully completed an audit that is expected to lead to ISO 9002 registration, making the Waterford, MI, company the first U.S. business aviation services company to have its operation certificated to the international quality standard.

"Our goal was to be ISO 9002 certified by December 1998," said Chrysler Pentastar President Tom Davis. "We are extremely pleased to have completed this project two months ahead of schedule.

"Achieving ISO 9002 certification demonstrates our commitment to continually provide the highest quality of products and service to our customers," Davis said.

Meanwhile, all areas of Chrysler Pentastar Aviation's business continue to expand. Charter operations are up more than 20% this year compared to 1997, company officials report. In addition, the Waterford, MI, company recently opened a new, 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art service center.

Chrysler Pentastar received several STCs in 1998, including approvals for installation of enhanced GPWS in Gulfstreams, dual UNS-1K FMSes in a Citation VII, and a Honeywell/GEC Marconi head-up display for Gulfstreams.

The company has expanded its aircraft management services in 1998. Earlier this year Chrysler Pentastar teamed with Gulfstream Aerospace to offer Gulfstream Management Services, which offers flight and maintenance management for a monthly fee.
