Upgrade Now and Pay as You Go

AlliedSignal has come up with a unique way for operators to pay for the -3D upgrade for the TFE731-3 engine. Instead of paying for the upgrade kit at the time of installation, operators may elect to factor in the price of the kit to their hourly Maintenance Service Plan operating rate. If an operator chooses to include the kit price in its MSP, a new five-year contract will be issued with an hourly baseline rate of $159.67. Operators that pay up front for the -3D conversion will immediately be able to take advantage of a substantially reduced MSP rate of $105 per hour.

The -3D option increases ITT limits by 25 degrees C in climb and 20 to 36 degrees C in cruise. The upgrade also extends the major periodic inspection interval from 1,400 hours to 2,100 hours. Compressor zone inspections remain at 4,200 hours.
