Eventide Argus Moving Weather Maps to Display Stormscope WX-500 Data Eventide and BFGoodrich engineers have expanded the multifunction capabilities of the Argus moving map to overlay the lightning strike and cell modes of BFGoodrich Avionics' Stormscope WX-500 systems on an Argus display. Alternatively, the weather modes can be displayed alone with only the flight plan waypoints on the screen. No Argus hardware adapter is required, and all WX-500 sensor functions can be controlled from the front panel of the Argus. In addition to the WX-500, Argus units can interface with older Stormscope models including the WX-10, 10A, 11 and 1000E (with ARINC 429 option), by means of an Eventide adapter. Eventide has added its Argus 5000 and 7000 enhanced monochrome models to the list of TSOed units that can be used with BFGoodrich Stormscope systems. The FAA requires that the WX-500 software option be factory installed. Eventide has added full North American coverage to its roster of database options. The new database covers all of Canada, the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. Jeppesen data are used for non-U.S. areas. The new database is offered at significant savings over the company's international databases, says Eventide. The North American database is available on a board-exchange basis for standard monochrome Argus units. Owners of color and enhanced monochrome Argus models can receive the database on PC cards, floppies or by downloading the data from the Internet. By Mal Gormley | ||||||
