AMR Combs President Retires

AMR Combs president Robert P. Anderson will retire on November 1, the company says. William S. Koch, currently a senior VP at AMR Combs, will replace him.

Anderson's career with AMR Combs began in 1967, shortly before the firm was acquired by Combs Gates. He was appointed president of Combs Gates in 1985. Anderson left the company at the time of its takeover by AMR, but was recruited back in 1991.

Koch will lead AMR Combs through another sale: AMR has decided to sell the company in order to concentrate on its airline operations, and expects to choose a buyer in December. Koch joined AMR Combs in 1989, and is currently in charge of field operations in the company's central division.
