Chevron Unveils Web Site Flight Planner Pilots planning a flight in which they wish to use only Chevron-branded FBOs will be interested in a new feature of the oil company's website. Chevron and 15 of its 375 U.S.-based dealers are demonstrating a new Internet-based trip-planner at Booth 1025. Clicking on the trip planner brings up a U.S. map from which users can select a state, for which the site lists all of the Chevron FBOs in that area. In addition to details about Chevron dealers' services, the site includes information on nearby hotels and restaurants. The Chevron trip planner also offers links to weather forecasting and other related sites. "Dealers and pilots will see the website planner as evidence of our commitment to add continuing value to our offerings," said Dale Anderson, manager of Chevron's general aviation division. "We are eager to solicit feedback from pilots at the NBAA show in order to tailor our Internet services to the needs of the aviation community," he said. In addition to providing feedback, pilots may want to enter Chevron's contest here to name the trip-planner. The winner will receive a leather Chevron bomber jacket. Chevron's presence at NBAA also will include Bill Signs, a private pilot widely known for his historic flight recreations. Signs collaborated with Chevron on the company's Air Bears program to educate youth on the history of aviation. In 1997, Signs recreated Lindbergh's transatlantic flight combined with presentations to grade school children. By Gordon A. Gilbert | ||||||
