Download Your Wx Data From the Internet

Litton Industries' Weather Service International company recently launched an Internet-based weather briefing system for professional airline and corporate pilots.

Dubbed PILOTbrief International, the new service aims to increase operational efficiencies by making access to up-to-the-minute weather information more readily available via a laptop or desktop computer.

Litton WSI's PILOTbrief allows pilots to download meteorological-met-data from the Internet via fixed or mobile phones, while offering a consistent and comprehensive range of weather information for flight planning.

Armed with the appropriate charts, pilots can save time by thus briefing themselves from any convenient location-rather than having to travel to an airport met briefing office.

All professional pilots will benefit from access to the same comprehensive and up-to-date information, said Litton WSI managing director Ken Gorf-wherever they are in the world.

One of the first big operators to take up the service is the express package carrier TNT, which has signed a contract to use the service for its European and worldwide operations.

In addition to its general PILOTbrief International service, Litton WSI will provide related weather watch and alert services tailored to TNT's specific needs.
