Pratt & Whitney Expands Its Service Organization

Pratt & Whitney is creating a unified, worldwide service organization for its commercial and military engine customers. This expanded organization, Engine Services, combines traditional customer support functions and spare parts sales with the services offered by the former Pratt & Whitney Eagle Services division.

The company's avowed goal is to make it easier for airlines and air forces to reach new levels of reliability and low cost of ownership.

"Our customers will not only see a full menu of products and services, but more importantly a seamless problem-solving resource they can use to enhance their engine operations," said Pratt & Whitney Engine Services vice president James Taiclet.

"We are creating the most customer-focused and competitive services organization possible," he said.

Engine Services includes the more than 20 Pratt & Whitney overhaul and repair operations worldwide. The company's engine services sales reached $1 billion in 1998, exclusive of spare parts.

Pratt & Whitney has a goal of doubling that figure over the next five years.
