Sweden Evaluates German Standoff Weapon

KEPD 150, the Daimler-Benz Aerospace weapons dispenser, has made a successful captive flight aboard the Saab JAS 39 Gripen, it was disclosed at the show. The test, which took place on August 27, was undertaken at the Swedish Air Force's test center at Linkoping as part of the definition phase authorized by the Defense Materiel Administration (FMV).

A member of the Taurus family being developed for the updated German Panavia Tornado force, KEPD 150 is a highly accurate delivery system that can be fitted with warheads optimized for a variety of targets. If ordered for Sweden, it could be in service within five years.
