Derco to Upgrade Brazilian C-130s

Derco Aerospace has a $50 million contract to upgrade Brazilian C-130s. The work is part of the $1.4 billion System for Vigilance of the Amazon (SIVAM), a Brazilian government program to ensure sustainable development of the Amazon region.

Under the contract, Derco will manage and perform scheduled maintenance, supply spares, carry out in-depth modifications and provide support training for Brazilian SIVAM personnel. Work includes programmed depot maintenance, airframe structural upgrades, retrofit of improved standard outer wings, introduction of improved bleed air distribution ducts, modification and overhaul of Allison T-56-A7 engines to-A15 configuration, replacement of the environmental control systems and upgrade to avionics systems.
