Latest CT7 Variant Gets its Certificate, It'll Power a CASA Regional

GE has achieved certification of its latest CT7 turboprop variant, which offers a baseline five percent power increase over current models and much improved hot-and-high performance-while remaining fully interchangeable with earlier models and fitting existing mounts. A more rugged propshaft enables a 12-foot, four-bladed Hamilton Standard propeller to be fitted for a 15% increase in available takeoff thrust. The first application of the beefier CT7 will be CASA's CN-235 Series 300 regional airliner, due to be certified by the end of this year and for which engine deliveries to Seville are soon to begin.
