Airbus Ministers Hold Off A3XX ILA
2000: The Ministers responsible for aerospace in the four Airbus partner
nations have admitted that critical decisions on the future of Airbus
and its product line remain to be made. Though pleased with the success
of Airbus over the past year, and welcoming the announced UK investment
in the A400M airlifter and A3XX Super Jumbo, the group, meeting at ILA
yesterday, again delayed the formal go-ahead of the A3XX. A decision on
the A3XX has been delayed at least until the next scheduled meeting of
the Ministers on 24 July, at Farnborough. Launching such a vital programme
in the UK would further heighten the profile battle between the ILA and
Farnborough air shows. ©Show
