ILA Celebrates Launch of EADS

EADS -- which owns 80% of Airbus -- will decide here at ILA 2000 when to launch the giant 550-passenger Airbus A3XX.

The Dasa-built Eurofighter DA-5 stars at ILA.
The European order or 620 aircraft is the world's fsingle largest military program.

EADS-the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company-formed by DaimlerChrysler Aerospace, AerospatialeMatra and Casa of Spain, makes its public debut at the biggest ILA 2000 ever. EADS is a major partner in every significant European program: Eurofighter, Airbus, the Tiger and NH 90 helicopters, Astrium, Meteor, Arianespace, and the seven-nation Airbus A400M transport. The A400M looks set to go ahead following last week's public statement of support from German Defense Minister Rudolf Scharping.
