Messier-Dowty Forms U.S. Subsidiary
Messier-Dowty International has formed a
U.S. subsidiary to be based in Seattle, Wash. The design-specializing
entity is headed by former Boeing senior engineer Scott Perkins.
Messier-Dowty's U.S. office will have a staff of 10 to 20, and
will include experimental, structural and systems landing gear
engineers. The bulk of the engineering work will involve technical
work packages on behalf of North American prime contractors, including
Bombardier and Boeing, in commercial, military, regional and business
applications.
Messier-Dowty will connect the North American design office with
its design and manufacturing facilities in Europe through datalink
connections. The Seattle office thus will be able to provide product-team
support in addition to its design activities, and will serve as
bridge to the company's other design offices in the UK, France
and Canada.
Messier-Dowty is touting its fully integrated landing gear system
aboard the Bombardier Global Express. The company is also developing
landing gear systems for the Hawker Horizon, Bell-Agusta BA609
and Bombardier Continental Jet.
