Rockwell Collins HGS Demo

Pilots who want to experience the value of head-up displays in real-world operations can check out the Rockwell Collins exhibit, where the company is featuring a PC-based simulation of Flight Dynamics' head-up guidance system (HGS). Designed to demonstrate the safety and operational utility of the HGS, the simulation guides the pilot on an approach in category III weather conditions.

Flight Dynamics, which has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwell Collins since April, is the world leader in commercial HUDs, and produces the only HUD systems certificated for category IIIa landings. Aircraft with category IIIa approval include the Dassault Falcon 2000.

Flight Dynamics' HGS is certificated and operational on more than 650 business, regional, airline and military aircraft.
