RMS Technology Digital Maps

RMS Technology is demonstrating its latest digital map and flight planning software at NBAA, showing the degree to which PC technology can help the pilot. The company's Flitesoft planning software can be set up for any of 160 aircraft types, includes a global terrain database, and will overlay a route on the free weather graphics now available online. It even includes a regularly updated database on fuel prices at FBOs en route. The system is compatible with the popular Garmin GPS and will automatically upload waypoints to the GPS. New features in the latest release include graphic approach data for virtually every airport with an instrument approach in the U.S.

Vista moving-map software is compatible with the cockpit computers produced by companies such as AvroTec as well as with desktop and laptop PCs. The software includes aviation, marine and land maps, and can provide terrain and obstacle warnings as well as a perspective view of the terrain ahead of the aircraft. It will also support scanned maps.
