Raytheon Travel Air: The Best Birdies By
Far
The advantages of fractional ownership convinced golfer Ray Floyd
that a share in a Beechjet 400A and a Hawker 800XP would keep
him in the green, on the greens. Floyd, a 40-year professional
golfing veteran and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, flies
between 175 and 200 hours each year, getting to and from tournaments
around the U.S. Raytheon Travel Air offered him a combination
of the mid-size 800XP and the lighter Beechjet 400A that gave
great flexibility in terms of range and the number of people who
can travel in each party.
"For our needs, fractional ownership is very appealing,"
says Floyd. "We liked the products at Raytheon Travel Air.
They provide turnkey operations, so instead of worrying about
the details we leave all that up to them."
Raytheon Travel Air, based at Wichita, currently offers its customers
the twin-turboprop King Air B200, Beechjet 400A and the Hawker
800XP mid-size jet. Joining the fleet within the next few years
will be 27 Hawker Horizons and 49 Premier 1s -- representing an
investment of over $1.5 billion. Raytheon Travel Air currently
operates a fleet of 50 aircraft on behalf of its 350 shareowners,
flown by 220 pilots. By the end of 1999 the company expects to
have grown to over 400 shareowners, with 56 aircraft and more
than 250 pilots.
