Chelton Avionics Announces New 8.33 kHz VHF Transceiver

Chelton Avionics of Prescott, AZ, has announced that it has developed a new 8.33 kHz channel spacing version of its Series III VHF transceiver. Production deliveries are scheduled to begin during the second quarter of next year. The company says the new transceiver is form and fit interchangeable with Chelton's current VC 401B transceiver. It includes standard 429 digital tuning and an extended frequency range option. Like all members of the Chelton Series III NAV/COM family, the new transceiver can be tuned with an associated VC 402 remote tuning head, commonly used FMS systems, the Series III RMS 555 Radio Management System, or most standard ARINC 8.33 kHz tuning heads. The Series III products were formerly built by AlliedSignal/Bendix/King. They are now designed and manufactured by Chelton's Wolfsberg Electronics Division in Prescott.
