FlightSafety International to Expand New Castle Buildings, Programs

FlightSafety International plans to bolster its Greater Philadelphia/Wilmington Learning Center with an expanded structure at New Castle Airport. The new 80,000-square-foot Wilmington center will draw from a wide array of hotel, restaurant and transportation facilities in the area. The expansion will provide enough capacity for 14 new simulators. The facilities will include advanced computer-equipped classrooms, briefing rooms and customer support spaces. Construction is scheduled to begin late this year for occupation by summer of 2000. The new center will include exercise rooms, business center-style customer lounges and break room/refreshment facilities. Simulators are to include Level D Embraer ERJ-145, Challenger 604, Gulfstream IV and Hawker 800XP. Other new corporate and regional simulators for the center will be announced later, FSI said.
