Securaplane Gives You Eyes Behind Your Head
A new externally-mounted, 360-degree video camera system developed
by Securaplane Technologies of Tucson, AZ (Booth 8578) has been
delivered for three installations by two companies. The CAM-10,
which Securaplane claims is the first such miniature camera system
in the industry, has been delivered to Raytheon Systems for two
Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) installations and to Associated Air
Center for mounting on a VIP Boeing 767.
The company says the CAM-10 and its companion CAM-11 color system
are used for security, safety, ground maneuvering and in-flight
entertainment. Two cameras point forward and aft and two others
point left and right for full, 360-degree visibility of landing
gear, engines and control surfaces.
The CAM-10 features four miniature monochrome cameras while the
CAM-11 features color cameras in the forward and aft positions.
The system is a 1.5-pound low-profile aerodynamic package in a
low-drag blade antenna.
It is capable of a stand-alone operation but it is also a plug-in
addition to Securaplane's System 450 and 500 Electronic Aircraft
Security Systems. In the security mode, the camera system is activated
when an intrusion is detected. The affected zone can be recorded
for later viewing.
In addition to its safety applications, the camera system is suitable
for cabin entertainment. Each video output will directly interface
with the aircraft video distribution system.
Securaplane offers a complete video camera suite for security,
flight test and entertainment including external viewing zoom
cameras, vertical-fin mounted cameras and internal cabin viewing
systems.
