BA609's Pro Line 21 on Track for 2001 First Flight

Rockwell-Collins' Pro Line 21 integrated avionics suite, featuring three large format, flat-panel displays, an integrated autopilot, and Pro Line 21 comm/nav/ident radios, will be ready for the Bell-Agusta BA609 commercial tilt-rotor's first flight later this year, company officials told Show News.

Standard equipment on the BA609 includes a Rockwell-Collins radio altimeter, dualRTU-4200 radio tuning units and an integrated maintenance diagnostic system. Dual flight directors, a solid-state weather radar, TCAS 4000 and FMS-3000 are options. When fitted with the optional FMS, the BA609 will be capable of multiple waypoint, vertical navigation and flying coupled GPS non-precision approaches. The system is designed with growth for wide and local augmented GPS.
