CTI Opens Blade Repair Shop in Brazil,
Nears MD 900 Certification

Texas-based Composite Technology, Inc. is opening a helicopter rotor blade repair station at the Jacarepagua Airport in Rio de Janeiro in league with Lider Taxi Aereo, the only Bell service center in Brazil. The facility is to open this coming spring with local DCA and OEM approval from Bell, Sikorsky and Agusta. CTI runs the only worldwide blade repair service certified by Agusta, Bell, Eurocopter, MD Helicopter, Schweizer and Sikorsky. It early last year began a team effort with MD Helicopter for CTI to become MD Helicopter certified for MD 900 main rotor blade repair. Program completion is expected early in this first quarter for abrasion strip replacement, refinish and balance; other repairs will follow by the end of the first quarter 2000.
