TAP Signs AAR for Logistics Support

Portugal’s TAP Maintenance and Engineering yesterday signed a contract with Illinois-based AAR to provide TAP’s maintenance, repair and overhaul customers with access to local consignment stocks and access to a central inventory. Through AAR, an aircraft supply chain company, TAP M&E vp Jorge Sobral says the agreement “will considerably reduce the need for investments that would be required to fulfill the needs of its customers.” TAP’s maintenance services include overhaul of CFM56-3, -5B, -5C and -7B, JT3, JT8 and RB211 engines; and airframe maintenance on Airbus A310, A340, A320, Boeing 737 and Lockheed L1011 aircraft.
