BAE Systems/Rockwell Collins Link 16 for NATO

Air Command Systems International, a Raytheon/Thales joint venture, has selected Link 16 terminals from Data Link Solutions (a BAE Systems/Rockwell Collins company) for the NATO Air Command and Control System. Three terminals will be delivered for the validation phase, during which they will provide secure communications between the System Test and Validation Facility (STVF) four fixed sites in Belgium, France, Germany and Italy, and a deployable unit based in the Netherlands. Additional fixed and deployable entities in NATO will be involved in later phases. The system provides jam-resistant, secure transfer of combat data, voice and navigation information on widely dispersed elements on the battlefield.
