 Bell 210 Certification Imminent

Bell Helicopter expects to obtain FAA certification this month for the Bell 210, a civilian version of the U.S. Army UH-1H, after flight tests are completed by its affiliate, Edwards and Associates. Aside from the Army light utility helicopter market, Bell is targeting the utility, homeland security, law enforcement and firefighting communities for the aircraft as well. Starting with a refurbished UH-1H fuselage, Bell adds the dynamic components from the Bell 212: the main rotor hub and blades, tail rotor, main and tail rotor support structures, transmission, rotating controls and tail boom, along with a Honeywell T-53-517B engine. Bell says the helicopter will operate for less than $650 per hour.
