Helios 2 Images Unveiled for the Public
EADS is exhibiting images from the Helios 2 military observation program at its stand here at Le Bourget. The exhibit at the show is the first-ever public showing of Helios 2 images from the military observation program. The satellite uses an imagery exploitation tool (EVI — Exploitation et Valorisation des Images), which generates high-resolution images that it can render in both 2-D and 3-D images. It can also produce accurate target coordinates and multimedia geo-intelligence reports. The satellite was developed for use by national defense ministries and was financed by the French armaments procurement agency and the Belgium and Spanish ministries of Defense. EVI serves military needs as a high- and very high-resolution tool.
