Swiss Are Latest Signing for EC 635

As part of its 2005 Armaments Program, issued late last month, the Swiss Department of Defense intends to acquire a fleet of 20 Eurocopter EC 635s, worth some $244 million. The EC 635s will replace the Swiss military’s fleet of elderly Alouette III helicopters to fulfill the light transport and training helicopter role. The EC 635s will be equipped with a cockpit similar to that of the Eurocopter Super Puma/Cougar transport helicopters already in Swiss service.
