Firefighters in Brazil have selected the Arrius 2B2 as the powerplant of choice for their EC 135 helicopters. The first 2B2 is slated for delivery in December. These EC 135s will be used for EMS, firefighting and environmental surveillance in central Brazil. The Arrius 2B2 was designed to allow for greater takeoff weight in Category A and to extend the temperature range of its predecessor, the Arrius 2B1.
