More Rolls-Royce Work for Mettis, and It’s on the A380

Metalworker Mettis Aerospace has signed a long-term contract with Rolls-Royce to supply precision-forged airfoil vane and blade components. for a wide range of engines, including the Trent 700 and 800. The components will be used for both new and aftermarket engines and will be made in the Mettis integrated facility in Redditch, Yorkshire, UK. Mettis also provides large aerostructure parts for the A380, including titanium forgings for flap drive assemblies, complex manifolds for 5,000-psi aileron and elevator actuators, and forged aerofoils for both engine candidates.
