Eurocopter and Guimbal Team to Develop Helicopter UAV
Eurocopter and Helicopteres Guimbal have teamed to form a new company named Vertivision, intended to produce a UAV version of Guimbal’s Cabri G2 two-seat light helicopter. EADS Defense and Communications Systems division will provide the ground control system. With a 330-lb payload, the UAV will be suited for a variety of military and civil missions, from coastal patrol to nuclear, biological and chemical detection work. Designed by Eurocopter engineer Bruno Guimbal, the G2 is an advanced, largely composite light helicopter with a fenestron tail.
