TAT Industries Expands MRO Services
French maintenance, repair and overhaul provider TAT Industries is at the show (Hall 2B, Stand H9) to promote the expansion of its services, spanning twin-turboprop commuters to jet airliners. Sister firm to TAT Leasing within the family-owned TAT Group, the industrial branch has seen a threefold increase in sales over the past eight years to a current figure of $225 million, of which 55% are exports.
TAT Industries has a workforce of 1,250 at its French plants at Dinard, Nimes-Garons, Charles de Gaulle IAP and Marseille, plus three others in the overseas possessions. Work is divided approximately evenly between regional transports, jetliners and military/special-mission aircraft. Customers number more than 200 in 100 countries.
Of special note is the Hydrep subsidiary, which is a joint venture with Messier Services, part of Safran, specializing in wheels, brakes and associated systems. It is based at Saint Malo with 80 employees.
TAT has some interesting and prestigious contracts, including maintenance of the French government’s fleet of 26 firefighting aircraft: mainly Bombardier 415s and Grumman Trackers. Additionally, earlier this month it finished an inspection of the famous Orbis DC-10 Flying Eye Hospital. Paul Jackson
