French aerospace research agency Onera and electronics specialist Sagem have teamed up to jointly operate “Le Busard,” a manned platform to test electronics systems for UAVs and other special-mission aircraft.
The co-owners of the Busard, in partnership with the French air force school and the CEV flight test center, are considering tests covering aerodynamics, propulsion, flexible structures, and studies on conversion of the aircraft into a “sensorcraft.” The tests will occur at Salon-de Provence air base in southern France.
