Parker Buys Three Sovereigns

Parker Hannifin not only manufactures many component parts for the Cessna Citation Sovereign— it has also added three of the new model of aircraft to its fleet.

Parker Hannifin Corp., based in Irvine, Calif., is an $8 billion company that will take delivery of one Sovereign this month and already added two of the aircraft to its fleet this summer. The new midsize aircraft has a range of 2, 881 nmi, has a 459 kt cruise speed, and can take off in 3,580 ft and land in 2,650 ft at maximum landing weight. It can carry 12 passengers and a crew of two, and it has a cruise ceiling of 47,000 ft.

Parker Hannifin supplies equipment for the program including temperature and digital flap controllers, temperature sensors, modulating valves, float vent vales and wing anti-ice pressure-regulating shutoff valves, inverters, pre-cooler ram door actuators, ejector pumps, engine-driven pumps, DC motors, and fuel boost pumps.

Parker officials say they selected the aircraft for its range and performance as well as for its cabin size. The aircraft is equipped with an advanced Honeywell Epic avionics suite, including four 8-by-10-in. active matrix LCDs that provide pilots with flight, navigation and engine information.
