At Last: Online Record-Keeping for GA

A major aspect of owning and operating high-performance aircraft— record-keeping— has been largely overlooked by aviation software developers. Sure, there's CAMP and a few other high-end systems. But for operators with modest budgets and a desire to escape paper logbook purgatory, few options exist. Enter AircraftLogs.com's online record-keeping service.

Targeted toward time-stretched professionals, business owners, aircraft managers, maintenance providers and FBOs, AircraftLogs (Booth 4845) has been developed to provide a convenient way to electronically manage nearly everything associated with owning and operating an aircraft. Maintenance, flight and financial records are all in one secure location and conform to regulatory requirements. The system is versatile enough that operators of complex singles, piston twins and turbine aircraft can use it.

Features of an AircraftLogs subscription include the Pilot Control Panel and Maintenance Control Panel, which allow pilots and maintenance providers to check flight readiness and handle common tasks from one screen. Once the operator grants FBOs and maintenance providers access to an operator's information, whenever the owner squawks the aircraft, or a service item is coming due, everyone is notified immediately. Other features include the Pilot Logbook, Squawk Tracker, Aircraft Maintenance Logs, Expense Log and Document Archive. Subscribers will be able to connect via their PDAs next spring.

Other highlights of the online service include integrated tax and expense records, document archival and storage, and capability for multiple aircraft and pilots.

In addition to greater con-venience, the company says, AircraftLogs provides greater security for aircraft records, since their value generally isn't insured under a homeowner, business or FBO insurance policy. Subscribers' existing paper logs are digitized (or you can do it yourself), while new entries requiring signatures can be added by fax.

AircraftLogs.com also facilitates financial record-keeping by neatly packaging all expense information so it is readily available to operators and their accountants; information can be downloaded in a spreadsheet format.
