TAG Farnborough Wants More Weekend Movements

TAG Farnborough Airport in the UK has applied to local Rushmoor Borough Council for permission to double the corporate airport's weekend and public holiday movements from 2,500 to 5,000 per year.

A TAG spokesman said, "We have had to turn away significant amounts of weekend movements over the last two years, due to the current 2,500 limit, which is seriously affecting our business and that of our customer base."

This is the first request for a change to the rules since the original planning application was granted in October 2000.

TAG's suggested amendment reads: "No more than 28,000 aircraft movements per annum shall take place, of which no more than 5,000 movements shall be at weekends and holidays." The planning meeting is scheduled for December 7.
