Mooney Deliveries Double

Mooney Aerospace Corp. expects to deliver more than twice as many aircraft this year as in 2004, with 66 deliveries having been made so far through the third quarter.

The deliveries this year to date are valued at $28 million. The Kerrville, Texas, company delivered 36 aircraft last year and 34 the year before.

Sales of the company's new Bravo GX and Ovation 2 GX high-performance, single-engine piston aircraft equipped with the Garmin 1000 integrated avionics suite are helping the company meet its expanded delivery goal. In the third quarter the company delivered 14 of these aircraft and expects to deliver the 100th Garmin 1000 equipped aircraft by the end of the year.

The company, founded in Wichita, Kan., in 1947, expects to deliver its 11,000th aircraft next year at the company's 60th anniversary. This will be an Ovation 2 GX destined for a customer in New Jersey.
