"The introduction of the Marquis card program has been a huge success as we've brought over 2,000 individuals and companies into private aviation over the past two years," says Kevin Russell, vp sales at NetJets (Booth 4635).
The Marquis card is the most important thing in business aviation since NetJets founder Richard Santulli pioneered fractional ownership in 1986and made it work, Russell asserts.
That's big talk, but NetJets comes to NBAA 2004 with a big record, boasting a fleet of 535 aircraft made up of 14 different types, ranging all the way up to the Boeing Business Jet. Sometime next year the NetJets fleet will hit 600.
There's more. NetJets has signed more than 5,000 customers over the past seven years, Russell says, and holds a 70% share of the fraxxie market. Jet card numbers are harder to calculate, but NetJets reckons a 70% share there too.
"Even I'm impressed," Russell says. "NetJets and Marquis tend to dominate the world of private aviation."
The most popular aircraft in the NetJets fleet, he says, are the Citation Excel, Hawker 800XP, Citation X, Falcon 2000, and the Gulfstream IV-SP and V-SP.
