Malaysian Order Keeps TB Trainer Family Hanging On
EADS Socata has signed an order for four TB 10 Tobago GT training aircraft with the Lankawi Aerospace Training Centre. The Malaysian-based flight training school will use the aircraft for basic and advanced pilot training and for aviation engineer training. The order is a welcome fillip for Socata, which has effectively shut down its TB piston-engined production line due to weak demand, particularly in the key flight school market on which it had relied. Socata still has inventory aircraft available for sale and is prepared to reopen production for small batch orders.
